Archers Rally with Power to Advance to Joplin

The St. Louis Community College baseball team scored first on Sunday afternoon, but allowed 7 runs in the bottom of the first inning, before mounting an epic comeback before pulling out a 15-13 win over North Central Missouri to advance to Joplin, MO.  

Kyle Stevens and Neil Fischer each collected three hits on the afternoon with Stevens driving in four runs with two home runs and Fischer driving in three runs, all of which came on a three run home run that just stayed inside the left field foul pole.  Jack Kane and Cole Dupont each added two hits and each drove in two runs, with Kane blasting a ball over the centerfield fence.  Kolton Schilly set the table at the top of the lineup by adding a double and scoring three runs and Andrew Dupont scored two run while walking three times as the top two in the lineup scored a third of the runs on the afternoon.  

Joseph Manley picked up the win for the Archers, as he pitched two and a third innings while allowing one run and striking out two hitters.  The Archers trailed 9-6 heading into the last four innings and scored nine runs in the final four innings to collect the victory. 

STLCC improves to 26-18 on the year and advances to play Crowder College on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Region 16 Final Four in Joplin.
