The St. Louis Community College men's basketball team captured the NJCAA District XIII title on Saturday afternoon in West Memphis, AR 86-69 and advance to the NJCAA D2 National Tournament in Danville, IL March 21st-25th.

The Archers were not phased with having to travel to Arkansas St. Mid-South, although they started slow, falling behind by 10 points in the first ten minutes and having DaVante Harrell and Miles Nettles sitting with 2 fouls each within the first five minutes of the game, they stayed with the game plan and started chipping away.

Down 38-32 at halftime, the Archers turned to their veterans during the second half and they delivered.  Five minutes into the half and trailing 42-34, Nettles took over as he scored the next five baskets and gave the Archers a 44-42 lead.  From there, Harrell and Sean Rigmaiden made sure that the Archers were going to get to Danville.  Rigmaiden finished with a team high 26 points, he hit 17 free throws to help close out the game, Nettles finished with 15 points, Harrell chipped in 12 points and had 6 rebounds and Todd Simms rounded out the double figure scorers for STLCC as he had 10 points.

The Archers improved to 21-12 on the year and await game time and opponent for the opening game at the national tournament on March 21st.
