STLCC Women’s Soccer Heads to Mineral Area for Region 16 Quarterfinals
The STLCC women's soccer team is set to travel to Mineral Area College for the Region 16 quarterfinals on Sunday, October 26 at 2:00 PM. After a season filled with growth and grit, the Archers are ready to take on postseason play.
Freshman standout Judit Carulla Fabregat has led the offensive charge this season, netting an impressive 10 goals. On the defensive end, goalkeeper Eva Santiago Parro has been a consistent force in goal, anchoring the team with her sharp reflexes and composure under pressure.
"This season has been a tough battle for our women's team," said Head Coach Garza. "We built an extremely challenging schedule that tested every player on the roster. It's made us stronger and more prepared for the intensity of the postseason."
The team's balance has been a key to its success, with leadership from sophomores Emma Grana, who leads the team with 5 assists, and Jenna Duchinsky, who has contributed 3 goals of her own. Both players have been instrumental in controlling the midfield and setting the tone for the team's competitive spirit.
"Emma and Jenna are strong forces in the middle," Coach Garza added. "They battle every play and bring a level of leadership and toughness that elevates the entire squad."
The Archers are focused and ready as they head into Sunday's matchup, aiming to advance deeper into the Region 16 Tournament.
